There are not a whole lot of scriptures for this subject ,but the ones above are sufficient enough to let us know that there are false Christs and also there are false ideas about who the real Christ was. Who do men say that Jesus Christ is and was is a very important question then and also now. This passage tells us that man has his own ideas about Jesus Christ then and now. Man will try to pass off his own ideas of Jesus Christ, even if it is against the Bible revelation. Some say He was a prophet, you know just like Mohammed, Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, just a prophet. Some think that He was a great teacher like Buddha or Confucius , but no more. Some think that He was a a great example of what all men could be. Some think that He was a perfect man, but no more. Some think that He was and is a potential savior if man is willing to let Him save him. Some think He was an incomplete savior and man has to help him by adding his works to Christ’s work. All of these are false Christs and are only idols of the unregenerate man of mind. They all come as the fruit of the non-elect effort to dethrone The Lord and cast off His shackles from their hearts and minds. You know a false christ when someone starts describing him as loving everybody and trying to save everybody from their sins. This false christ offers salvation to all but saves none who are not first willing in their own power to be saved. This false christ died on the cross to make salvation possible for every man who ever lived or live. This false christ will lose all of those who are not willing to stay saved. This false christ is none other than the christ of many who go by the name of Christian, whom we know by their theological name as Arminians. Arminians are most Baptist, all Methodist, some Presbyterians (it is ashamed that any are), Reformed (yes, even some Reformed because remember if this is the christ they believe in and preach then no matter what name they go by, they are still Arminians). Who then is the real Christ, the Christ of the scriptures? He is the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the eternal God born of the virgin Mary and clothed in the likeness of human flesh, Who lived a sinless life while here upon earth and died a sacrificial death for the elect people of God and rose again on the third day for their(the elect of God) justification. He is the One Who is seated at the right hand of the Father ever making intercession for those He died to save and ruling over all of His enemies until the time before appointed. He is the real and absolute Savior of His people not being thwarted in this purpose by any malignity or failure of man or losing a one of them to the fires of hell. He saves all of His people and them only. In scripture language He gives His life for the sheep, never for the goats. His work is finished and complete and nothing can be added to it by the will or sincerity of man. This is the Christ of the scriptures and the only real Christ there is, all others are idols of the mind of unregenerate man. Which Christ do you believe in and worship?
